Ever wondered how images bring 'life' to people, but hides the fearful truth behind it? Sometimes viewing photographes in grayscaled seems to tell a whole lot more about the picture. What hidden meaning does a greyscaled picture contain? Could it be
steganography? I've been planning to get a new mp3 player. Gotten the old one from redemning (spelling?) mobile points my dad accumulated for pumping petrol at the station.
Old mp3 playerSony MZ-RH10Asked my sis for her views on the
Sony MZ-RH10. She said it isn't worth getting a
MD (MiniDisc) and told me to get a
iPod instead.
There seem to be too much hype on 'i' something. There's iPod, iRiver, iRobot, i-'somthing'. Maybe because it started with iMac? I don't know.
One reason I don't want to get a iPod is due to it being over-rated. It has become too mainstreamed. Same goes for Creative's Zen. Everyone seems to have either a Zen or an iPod. It may seem similar to computer giants Intel and AMD.
I've been thinking about my past. All the screwed-ups I made in secondary school. I didn't really care about my future then. I guess when you mature your viewpoints tend to change and be different. Sometimes looking towards the future is somewhat making yourself plan ahead.
After getting into Polytechnic I started to realised how near/far I am to the working world. 3 years of my diploma course and 2 years of NS. After that, I can either enter the workforce (
highly unlikely) or continue my studies. My days seem to pass much quicker now compared to secondary school. It's already September (In 15 hours time). Everyday is filled with something to learn and explore.
I have been sleeping late these few days. I didn't sleep from Sunday night to Monday morning 8.30am. I was rushing through my Java programming project. And on tuesday, I slept at 4am. We need more sleep.
My future is in my own hands... let's paint it the way we want.

Food Review! Tutu Kueh
The definitionIn the heart of many, it lies in there, the craving for food.
I bought some TuTu Kueh at one of the side stores for $2. 5 for 2 dollars.
What is Tutu keuh?
-------------------
From my point of view, it's made from some kind of flour (that what it seems to me) with fillings of either shredded sweetened coconut or peanut. [Think of your kaya bun, but replace the filling with coconut/peanut and the dough with flour.]
They are then placed in steam-cooker to be cooked. Once cooked, there are placed on squarish banana-leaves and then sold.

The mysterious white cake

What's inside?

On a banana leaf! Wee.

We sent our investigator to check it out.
Investigator: "Hmmm.... I wonder what is this?"

Investigator: "Ah! A hat maybe?"

Investigator: "It's food! My favorite!"

Our investigator somehow managed to dig out the contents. Seems that it's a steam cake with peanut filling and flour.

Investigator: "It's too delicious...... ugh.."
NOTE: No animals/toys/investigators/whatever-you-want-to-call-them were harmed in this investigation!

Piracy

2 postgrads held for selling pirated discs online
PhD student also among 5 nabbed in raid on 4 homes
By Chua Hian Hou
A PRE-DAWN police raid on four homes here yesterday saw five people arrested for selling pirated movies, music concert videos and video games on online auction sites.
The seizure of 1,600 DVDs and CDs was Singapore's largest ever haul from an Internet piracy investigation, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Tan Kah Khin, head of the Criminal Investigation Department's Intellectual Property Rights Branch (IPRB).
The discs seized include movies like Pirates Of The Caribbean and Alien Versus Predator; concert music videos of performers like Avril Lavigne and Britney Spears; Sony PlayStation games and pornographic movies.
A police statement said the pirates' products had earned them an average of $100 to $400 every month. Four of them are employed.
The alleged pirates - four men and one woman aged between 23 and 41 - had purchased the discs from syndicates and listed them at $6 to $8 apiece on online auction sites.
Two of them have master's degrees and one is a PhD student.
Buyers were contacted via e-mail and payment was made directly into the sellers' bank account, typically through Internet banking or ATM transfer.
When payment was received, the pirates would mail the discs to the buyers. No physical contact was ever made.
Despite the similarities in how the pirates operated, the four operations were not linked, said DSP Tan.
According to Record Industry Association Singapore (Rias) chief executive and Motion Picture Association representative Edward Neubronner, an anonymous tip-off made on the Rias website in March this year led to the arrests.
The whistle-blower had named four online auction accounts he suspected of selling pirated products. Rias investigators bought items from the sites to verify that the discs were pirated and then passed on the information to police.
IPRB officers eventually managed to uncover their identities. They had been operating since January this year.
DSP Tan said when they were arrested, the five were surprised that they could be traced, since they had never had any physical contact with their buyers.
People found guilty of selling or distributing pirated materials are liable for fines of up to $100,000 and jail of up to five years.
'This is not a good way to supplement your pocket money,' DSP Tan added wryly.
A whole lot of stuff
The darkness engulfed me, leaving me rendering to it. I tried fighting back, but to no avail. So much pain inflicted. The though of giving up was so tempting. Suddenly, a small but piercing light penetrated thru the darkness. It was then when 'it' appeared. A guide for me to escape, a new way. What leads to it?
As I alighted from the bus, I recalled the conversation I just had with my senior. It was a serious one, yet we talked about it so casually. I have been slacking. He noticed it and pointed out that during lessons, my laptop is always switched on and I'll be either busy with watching anime, gaming or something else. I tried to deny the fact that I only game/watch anime after classes. He then told me how he had wasted some years and doesn't want to go thru that again. Realsing the truth, I decided to change for the better.
